Blackchapel is a 20-pages comic, that I created in the period 2005-2006 with a script by Stian Andreassen. The comic was printed in my first publishing Tomtes Sorte Sider (Tomtes Black Pages) which was an album series of four publications, published in the period 2006-2009 in Norway. The cold and dark country up north.
Blackchapel is a mix of Noir, horror and fantasy which is a twist on Jack The Ripper who terrorized White Chapel in the 1800th-century. In Blackchapel you get to know how it was renamed Whitechapel.
The story begins with a small group of kids who are out for a Trick or Treat in London’s snowy streets on Halloween. They are lost and disappear without any traces in the city’s notorious and darkest district where not even the city’s police dare to put their feet. And only one man in London have the guts to enter Blackchapel to find out what happened. His name is The Rat, an anthropomorphic detective wearing the classic trenchcoat, hat and cigar.
